How to Fill In Card Attributes to Show Up in Filters

Why marketplace attributes work as search filters, why even optional fields are worth filling in, and how this affects the card's SEO and traffic.

How to Fill In Card Attributes to Show Up in Filters

Marketplace attributes are not "extra fields" — they are search filters. When a shopper filters search results by color, size, material, or purpose, the platform shows only the cards that have those attributes filled in. An empty attribute = dropping out of the corresponding filter and losing traffic.

In short: fill in ALL attributes, including optional ones — each one unlocks a filter.

How to Fill Them In Correctly

  • Fill in everything: both mandatory and optional fields.
  • Stick to the reference values: pick values from the platform's list rather than typing free text wherever possible.
  • Do not mix up the subject/category: the wrong subject sends the card into the wrong search results (see Subject ID on WB).
  • Use attributes as keywords: material, purpose, and features often match search queries.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

"Why fill in all the attributes?" Attributes work as search filters. An empty field = the card is not shown to shoppers filtering by that parameter.

"Do attributes affect SEO?" Yes: they both power the filters and often match search queries, helping the card rank.

"What happens if I leave optional fields empty?" You lose the traffic from filters on those parameters. Optional for the platform ≠ optional for sales.

"Can I enter attributes as free text?" Wherever a reference list of values exists, pick from the list — that is how the card correctly lands in the filters.
