How to become an Ozon seller: status, registration and seller requirements

How to become a seller on Ozon: choosing a status (sole proprietor, LLC or self-employed), registering in Ozon Seller, bank details, the offer agreement and data verification — a step-by-step guide for beginners.

How to Become an Ozon Seller: Status, Registration and Seller Requirements

To become a seller on Ozon, you need to register a business status (sole proprietor (IP), LLC (OOO) or self-employed), sign up at seller.ozon.ru, confirm your company and bank details, accept the offer agreement and pass verification. Registration is free — you can become a seller in a single day, after which all that is left is to create product cards and make your first delivery.

In short: status → application in Ozon Seller → data verification → offer agreement → you are a seller.

This guide is about who you become and what it takes: status, documents, seller requirements. The operational launch steps (product cards, FBO/FBS models, deliveries) are covered separately — in the guide how to start selling on Ozon.

Step 1. Choose your seller status

Ozon works with three legal forms — your choice determines your taxes and what you are allowed to sell:

  • Self-employed (NPD regime): only goods of your own production, no resale. Suits handmade products and a small start.
  • Sole proprietor (IP): resale allowed, simple reporting, most beginner resellers start here.
  • LLC (OOO): for teams, several founders and large turnover.

More on choosing a form — in the guide sole proprietor, LLC or self-employed; on the tax side — seller taxes.

Step 2. Register in Ozon Seller

  1. Go to seller.ozon.ru and create an account with your phone number.
  2. Enter your INN (Russian taxpayer number) — the system will pull up the records of your IP, OOO or self-employed registration.
  3. Fill in your store details: name, product category, bank details.
  4. Accept the Ozon offer agreement and wait for data verification (usually quick — from a few hours).

Once verification is done, your seller account is open — you are officially an Ozon seller.

What to prepare in advance

How "becoming a seller" differs from "starting to sell"

Becoming a seller is the legal and registration step: status, application, verification, offer agreement. Starting to sell is already operations: product cards with full attributes, choosing between FBO and FBS, deliveries and promotion. First you become a seller, then you launch sales.
