Ozon payouts: when the money arrives and why it is less than sales

How the Ozon payout cycle works: the sales report, the twice-a-month schedule and paid acceleration, what the deductions are made of, how to reconcile the reports and which amount you pay tax on.

"How do I withdraw money from Ozon" is a trick question in exactly the same way as on WB: there is nothing to withdraw, the platform itself transfers the money to your bank details on a schedule. The real questions are: when the money arrives, why the amount is smaller than sales and how to reconcile the payout against the report. Let us take them in order.

How Payouts Work

  1. The customer pays for the order - Ozon receives the money.
  2. At the end of the settlement period the platform compiles a sales report: sales minus all deductions.
  3. The final amount goes to the bank details from your seller account.

By default settlements run twice a month - for the first and the second half of the month. There is a paid option for more frequent payouts (a flexible schedule); check its terms and the percentage in your seller account, they change. There is no "withdraw" button: with correct bank details the money arrives automatically.

Why the Payout Is Smaller Than Sales

How to Reconcile Payouts

  • The sales report - the key document: sales, returns, commission, logistics and deductions for every position. Download it in the seller account and keep it for the tax authorities.
  • "Sales to payout" reconciliation - once a month match the reports against the money received in your bank account: the reconciliation method and how to calculate profit.
  • Disputed deductions - challenged through support within the window set by the platform: how to dispute a fine.

If the Payout Has Not Arrived

  1. Check the bank details in your seller account - a common cause after changing banks.
  2. Check the schedule: weekends and public holidays shift the transfer.
  3. Check whether the seller account is blocked or a large deduction has swallowed the payout.
  4. Open a support ticket - with the sales report number and the period.

Tax on Payouts

Tax is paid not on the money received in your bank account: on the simplified regime (USN) with the "income" base, the base is the full sales total before Ozon deductions, not the payout. Calculating tax "on what hits the account" is a classic mistake that comes back as additional assessments. The same base is used for the VAT threshold - when a seller on the simplified regime pays VAT. A full breakdown of the regimes is in the guide to seller taxes. How the same cycle works on WB is in the mirror guide to payouts, and a comparison of the platforms' cash cycles is in the Ozon vs WB guide.

FAQ

"When does Ozon transfer money to the seller?" By default twice a month, for the first and the second half of the month, once the sales report has been compiled. The exact dates and the options for more frequent payouts are in the seller account.

"How do I withdraw money from Ozon?" You do not - and that is normal: the platform itself transfers the money to the bank details in your seller account on a schedule. The seller's job is to keep the details current and reconcile the reports.

"Why is the payout smaller than the sales total?" Before the payout, commission, logistics (including return shipping on returns), storage, advertising and fines are withheld. The itemized breakdown is in the sales report, position by position.

"Can I get payouts more often than twice a month?" Yes, Ozon has a paid flexible payout schedule. Check the service fee and the terms in your seller account - and work out whether the price of faster turnover is justified.

"Which amount do I pay tax on - sales or the payout?" On the simplified regime with the "income" base, on the full sales total before platform deductions. Taxing the money received in your account understates the base and leads to additional assessments during an audit.
